Tuesday Blotter: Star Wars Memorabilia Stolen

Theft from auto

A set of hubcaps were reported stolen from a car parked in the 10000 block of Frontage Road on Oct. 21. The value of said items is around $30, the report stated.

Stolen ring

Police responded to a theft in the 8800 block of Hamlin Avenue on Aug. 29. According to the report, a ring valued at $2,500 was stolen from a bedroom dresser.

Catalytic convertor stolen

A catalytic convertor – which is located underneath a vehicle and contains precious metals – was reported stolen from a car parked in the 8600 block of Central Park on Oct. 3. The value of said item with repair is around $1,000, the report stated.

Stolen cell phone

A woman reported her Apple iPhone 4S stolen after visiting Mobil Gas Station, 4802 Dempster St., on Oct. 21. The woman told police that she left the phone on her windshield prior to it being missing.

Star Wars memorabilia stolen

Police responded to a theft at Public Storage, 8220 Skokie Blvd., on Oct. 20. According to the report, about $5,000 worth of Star Wars memorable was stolen from the unit. The manager on site noted that there are no cameras at the facility.

Vehicle vandalism

A car parked in the 7700 block of Keeler Avenue was reported vandalized on Oct. 19. According to the report, a blunt object was used to break both rear view mirrors. The damage was estimated to be about $500, the report stated.
