Tuesday Blotter: Theft at Jane Stenson

Misplaced wallet

A woman reported that someone took her wallet during a stay at the Double Tree Hotel on April 2. The wallet contained about $300 and several credit cards, the report said.

Harassment

Police responded to a harassment complaint in the 9700 block of Woods Drive on April 2. According to the report, a woman’s former lover was leaving her harassing message via text and voice mail. No charges were filed.  

Theft from Jane Stenson Elementary

Police responded to a theft at Jane Stenson School, 9201 Lockwood Ave., on Apr. 2. According to the report, a leaf and snow blower were stolen from a locked shed on school grounds. The total value of the combined items was about $300, the report said.

Rough housing

Police responded to a domestic disturbance complaint in the 8600 block of Kostner Avenue on April 1. According to the report, the victim’s girlfriend became upset and began throwing food around the house. Once he kicked her out, the alleged suspect took a shovel and busted out his screen door, the report said. No charges were filed.

Disorderly conduct

Michael A. Link, 28, of the 1100 block of Galena Avenue in Freeport, was charged with disorderly conduct on April 1. Link allegedly caused a disturbance at Bar Louie at Holiday Inn, 5300 Touhy Ave., the report said. His court date is May 4.

Deceptive practice
A woman reported that her credit card was fraudulently charged $3,300 on March 28. According to the report, the woman lost her credit card while shopping at a nearby TJ Maxx. The suspect who found the card then went on to charge $3,300 at an Apple store in Skokie.
