Tuesday Blotter: Thieves Steal From School

Lunch bag, purse stolen from home

Police responded to the 5300 block of Conrad Street regarding a residential burglary on March 15. According to the report, an unknown person crawled through the kitchen window and removed a purse and lunch sack.

Santino Stepan, 20, of the 7900 block of Kolmar Avenue, was charged with possession of cannabis on March 14. Stepan was stopped near the 4800 block of Elm Street for a traffic violation, the report said. Once stopped, police allegedly found 2.47 grams of marijuana inside his vehicle. Stepan’s court date is set for March 30.

Copper downspout stolen from school

Police responded to a theft at Highland School regarding a theft on Jan. 17. According to the report, an unknown person(s) removed a 5-foot copper downspout from the exterior of the school. The head custodian valued the said item at around $500, the report said.

Player fights referee

Police responded to a battery complaint at Weber Center, 9300 Weber Park, on March 13. According to the report, a player allegedly got into a physical altercation with a referee during a basketball game. No charges were filed.
