Two Men Struggle With Cabbie For Wallet

The following information comes from the Skokie Police Department and Village of Skokie. 

Criminal Damage to Property

• Criminal Damage to Property at 3342 Dempster Street, Marathon Station, on January 3rd between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Reported:  01/03/2014. An unknown person(s) used a dumbbell to knock out part of the wall in the bathroom of the gas station.

• Criminal Damage to Property on the 4600 block of Oakton Street, between January 3rd at 8:00 p.m. and January 4th at 12:00 p.m.  Reported:  01/04/2014. An unknown person removed a holiday ribbon affixed to the front door of the business and ripped it apart, scattering it in pieces on the sidewalk.

Robbery

• Robbery on the 9200 block of Kenneth Avenue, on January 4th at 6:00 p.m.  Reported:  01/04/2014. Two unknown male black subjects, 18-20 years old, attempted to grab the wallet from the driver of a Northshore Cab, while they were exiting the vehicle.  The driver was able to retain his wallet during the brief struggle, but may be missing an unknown amount of money from it.  The subjects fled southbound on Kenneth from Lyons.

Theft

• Theft at 5405 Touhy Avenue, Barnes and Noble, on January 4th between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Reported:  01/04/2014. An unknown person(s) stole the victim’s wallet out of her purse.  The unknown person(s) then  attempted to use the victim’s credit card at various locations.

Arrests

• Miller, Mark A., 46, 1900 block of Emerson, Evanston, was arrested on charges of Driving with a Suspended/Revoked Driver’s License on the 3200 block of Dempster Street on 01/03/2014.

• Borrero, Noel, 43, 4740 Washington Street, #1W, was arrested on charges of Burglary on the 4700 block of Washington Street, on 01/03/2014.  Borrero used a maintenance key to gain access into another apartment.

• Cuyos, Socorro, 50, 5106 Carol Street #1, was arrested on charges of Driving with No Valid Driver’s License on the 7300 block of Niles Center Road, on 01/04/2014.

• Gonzalez, Jeremi T., 27, 4726 W. Montana Avenue, Chicago, was arrested on charges of Driving with a Suspended/Revoked Driver’s License on the 7300 block of Niles Center Road, on 01/04/2014.
