Wed. Blotter: Thieves Steal From Church, Again

Another theft from a Church

Police responded to a theft at St. Peter’s United Church, 8013 Laramie Ave., on Jan. 24 around 12:30 p.m. According to the report, two copper downspouts valued at $500 each were stolen from the north side of the building. Police have said that there’s been a recent increase in metal related thefts in Skokie.

A handicap woman reported that a bag containing $5,700 was stolen from the back of her wheelchair on Feb. 7. The victim was doing laundry inside an apartment complex in the 5200 block of Old Orchard Road during the time of the theft, the report said. The victim told police that she never saw her assailant.

A home in the 4700 block of Washington Street was egged on Feb. 4.

Say what?

A man reported that he received several voicemails from an unknown person who kept stating, “stop touching yourself,” on Jan. 19.
