Wednesday Blotter: $17K Internal Theft

Theft at Forest City

Police responded to a theft at Vetter Development Services at the Illinois Science and Technology Park on April 24. According to the report, about $20 of currency was taken from an employee locker.

Stolen auto

A car parked in the 7500 block of Frontage Road was reported stolen on April 26. The estimated value of the vehicle is around $4,500.

Copper thieves strike again

Police responded to a theft in the 5200 block of Brown Street on April 24. According to the report, a 16-foot copper downspout was stolen from the side of a home.

Internal theft

A man alleged that his former bookkeeper stole more than $17,000 from his business while she was employed with him on March 9. While no charges have been filed, police are investigating.
