Wednesday Blotter: An Entire Shed is Stolen

Stolen plate

Police responded to a theft outside Skokie Hospital in the 9600 block of Gross Point Road on March 11. According to the report, a man reported that an unknown person stole his license plate from his vehicle.

Police responded to a theft at American Laser Skincare, 4711 Golf Road, on March 2. According to the report, the owner had several skincare products on display in her waiting area. The victim told police that one of her customers stole approximately $1,870 worth of skincare products before fleeing her store, the report said.

“Your butt belongs to me”

A woman came into the Skokie police station to report that she has been receiving several harassing messages from a former lover on March 7. According to the report, the alleged culprit took several nude photos of the woman and told her that her “butt” belongs to him. He then proceeded to say that if she did not resume the relationship with him that he would post the pictures on the Internet, the report said. No charges have been filed at this time.

Shed stolen

Police responded to a theft in the 5000 block of Dobson Street on March 8. According to the report, a homeowner reported that someone stole his entire 10 X 8 shed from his backyard. The shed had an estimated value of around $300 and was constructed of aluminum, the report said.

Deceptive practice

A woman reported that $650 of unauthorized transactions were made on her credit card on March 12. One transaction was for tickets from StubHub.com while the other was for about $445 worth of shoes from Zappos.com, the report said.

Stolen Macbook

A woman reported her Apple Macbook was stolen from her vehicle as it sat parked outside Panera Bread, 9611 Skokie Blvd., on March 11.

Attempted bike theft

Police were dispatched to the 8300 block of Trumbull Avenue regarding an attempted theft on March 18. According to the report, a black male about 12 years of age attempted to steal a BMX bike from the backyard of a home. A neighbor saw the event unfold and was able to deter the alleged suspect from taking the bike, the report said. No charges were filed.

Stolen lawn chair

Police were dispatched to the 8300 block of Keeler Avenue regarding a theft on March 18. According to the report, a lawn chair valued at around $15 was reported stolen.
