Wednesday Blotter: Butt Grabbing, Slapping

Residential burglary

A home in the 8800 block of Bennett Street was reported burglarized on June 20. The victim believes the culprit made entry through a bathroom window, the report said. Among the items taken were a bottle of vodka, a laptop and several pieces of jewelry.

DUI

Dominicque Harden, 24, of the 1400 block of Monroe Street in Evanston, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on July 1. According to the report, Harden was stopped for allegedly speeding near Church Street and Kenton Avenue. She allegedly had a blood alcohol content level of .147, the report said.

Fireworks

Police responded to a disorderly conduct complaint in the 7000 block of Laramie Avenue on July 1. According to the report, a 43-year-old-man was lighting illegal fireworks in the area. His court date is Aug. 13.

DUI

Police responded to a motorist who was sleeping while driving in the 3300 block of Dempster Street on July 1. According to the report, police found Jennefer P. Williams, 37, of the 1200 block of McDaniel Street in Evanston, sleeping behind the wheel. She allegedly had a blood alcohol content level of .256 – more than three times the legal limit of .08. Her court date is Aug. 10.

Vehicle vandalism

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 9800 block of Keeler Avenue on July 1. According to the report, an unknown person used a blunt object to smash out the rear window of a vehicle.

Garage burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 5100 block of Church Street on June 1. According to the report, an unknown person(s) allegedly stole several power tools. The combined value of said items was around $2,000, the report said.

Butt grabbing, slapping

Police responded to a battery complaint at Weber Center, 9300 Weber Park, on July 1. According to the report, a woman allegedly grabbed a man’s butt and then slapped him in the face. She would then flee the scene. Police were unable to locate the suspect when they arrived, the report said.
