Fake Check?
The Skokie Currency Exchange said it will file a complaint following a counterfeit check incident that occurred on March 26 and was reported on April 12. A customer came to exchange a cashier's check for $1,540. The check was reviewed by several authorities and deemed to be counterfeit.
Sister's Shattered Car
A brother reported that the back window to his sister's 2005 red Toyota Corolla had been damaged between April 5 and April 12. He said the car had been fine when he visited last week and had occurred between visits.
Trident Strikes Again. . .
The northwest brick wall of a building in the 4600 block of Oakton had been vandalized between April 11 at 4:30 p.m. and April 12 at 8 a.m. A five-point crown, a downward pointing trident and illegible markings were drawn in red spray paint.
. . . and Again
A trident pointing downward and a series of letters were graffitied in red spray paint on a building in the 4600 block of Oakton. The empty building formerly housed a Dollar House Plus. Employees of the shop told police the markings hadn't been on the building when they vacated. The property owner was notified of the damage.
Rent Check Stolen
Items were stolen from an unlocked 1999 Chevy Malibu parked in the 9400 block fo Kildare between April 6 and 9. The victim reported on April 11 that a black laptop bag, paperwork, work keys, a memory stick and a $500 rent check were stolen.
