Disturbing finding at home

Police responded to a well-being check for a man who was routinely hanging out at Skokie Hospital on Aug. 3. According to the report, the man would eat breakfast and dinner at the hospital and bother a lot of the patients.

This had become a recurring issue for the hospital, the report noted.

At the man’s Skokie home, police found several disturbing images, including messages taped on the window referencing Nazi leader Adolph Hitler as well as violent and hateful notes. Police also found two knives inside the home along with the message “666+666=Hell.”

Police were unable to located the man and no charges were filed

Church vandalized

Police responded to Holy Trinity Church, 8201 Karlov Ave., regarding a criminal damage report on Aug. 12. According to the report, the front glass door of the church was broken. Police suspected a projectile broke the glass door from inside the church.

Bicycle stolen

Police responded to a theft in the 4700 block of Main Street on Aug. 12. According to the report, a men’s 6-speed bike was stolen from a rack where it was locked.

An unsecured bicycle was stolen outside a home in the 4900 block of Foster Avenue on Aug. 18. The bike was valued at about $200.

A $16 accessory was stolen from a bicycle parked at Terminal Park in Skokie on Aug. 17.

Package stolen

A package intended for a home in the 9200 block of Lavergne Avenue was reported missing on Aug. 14. According to the report, the package was signed for and reported delivered even though the primary recipient never received it. The item was worth about $415.
