Wednesday Blotter: Military Vet Robbed

Public storage theft

Police responded to a theft at Public Storage, 8220 Skokie Blvd., on Oct. 19. According to the report, several important documents were taken from a unit.

Teens caught with marijuana

Three teens were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Oct. 20. Police were dispatched to the 9000 block of Ewing Avenue after someone called about several teens loitering in a nearby alley. About two grams of marijuana and a smoking pipe were found on the teens, the report said. All three were charged with possession of cannabis.

DUI

James Malkowski, 65, of Wisconsin, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Oct. 22. Malkowski was stopped near Old Orchard and Gross Point roads for a traffic violation. He had a blood alcohol content level of .123, the report stated.

Military vet robbed

Two men robbed a military veteran after exiting a Mobil Gas Station, 4802 Dempster St., on Oct. 21. According to the report, the man was approached by two black males, both in their 20s with skinny builds, and attacked the veteran. The victim told police that his military ID, wallet and pack of Newport cigarettes were taken after being robbed, the report stated. No arrests were made.

Man robbed at Gross Point Park

A man was robbed of his iPad while using it at Gross Point Park on Oct. 21. The victim was approached by a black male, about 20-30 years of age, with a skinny build, and asked when the bathrooms at the park are open, the report said. Shortly after asking the question, the culprit took the victim’s iPad and fled in an unknown direction, according to the report. The electronic device was valued at around $400, the report stated.
