Wednesday Blotter: Pills Stolen in Home Burglary

Theft from motor vehicle

Police responded to a theft from motor vehicle complaint at the Skokie Public Library on Sept. 2. According to the report, a driver side window was shattered and a black cloth bag, containing several Christian books, were removed.

Residential burglary

Police responded to a residential burglary in the 5300 block of Cleveland Avenue on Sept. 3. Entry was gained by prying open a window on the west side of the home. Once inside, several prescription pills were looted. No other items were taken.

DUI

Lhagon Kyab, 36, of the 6200 block of Devon Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Sept. 4. Kyab's vehicle was stopped near Kedvale Avenue and Howard Street after an accident. A test showed that Kyab had a blood alcohol content level of .191. His court date is Sept. 12. No injured were reported from the crash.

Golf clubs stolen

About $500 worth of golf clubs was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 8100 block of Kedvale Avenue on Sept. 5. According to the report, a brick was thrown through the front windshield to gain entry.

Theft from motor vehicle

Police responded to a theft from motor vehicle at Life Time Fitness, 5300 Old Orchard Rd., on Sept. 10. According to the report, a large black Chanel brand purse, a high-end Panerai watch, a digital camera and a camcorder were removed from the vehicle. The loss was estimated at $10,000. Entry was gained by smashing out the passenger side window.
