Wednesday Blotter: Rare Coins Stolen

Theft from auto

A car parked in the 3500 block of Arcadia Avenue was burglarized on Dec. 23. According to the report, an Apple iPod was stolen from the vehicle.

Rare coins stolen in burglary

A home in the 9600 block of Lowell Avenue was burglarized on Dec. 23. According to the report, several rare coins and jewelry were taken from the home. Police said brute force was used to gain entry.

Theft from auto

A car parked outside 5330 Old Orchard Road, was reported burglarized on Dec. 21. According to the report, a Coach brand purse was taken from the vehicle.

Residential burglary

A home in the 1000 block of Beverly Drive was burglarized on Dec. 21. According to the report, two cameras and several lenses with a combined value of $1,300 were stolen from the apartment. The report said brute force was used to gain entry.

Busted with Mary Jane

Police charged a 26-year-old Winnetka man for possession of cannabis on Dec. 21 around 12 a.m. According to the report, the suspect was stopped for a traffic violation in the 9200 block of Crawford Avenue. The driver would later tell police he had marijuana inside the vehicle and was arrested.
