Wednesday Blotter: Shots Fired Complaint

 Shots fired

Police responded to a shots fired complaint in the 3600 block of Jarvis Avenue on Aug. 10. According to the report, a business owner heard six to eight gunshots come from an alley near the 7300 block of Central Park.

When police investigated the scene, they found several gold colored casings on the floor. Several witnesses told police they saw either a grey van or SUV leave the alley shortly after the shooting. No arrests were made and no injuries were reported. This marks the

Man walks around naked

A man told police that he saw an older person walking around naked in the 9200 block of Gross Point Road on July 27.

Stolen thumb drives

A woman reported that an unknown person stole three thumb drives from her backpack while at the Skokie Public Library on Aug. 8.

DUI

Amarbayasgalan Chinbat, 38, of Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Aug. 8. According to the report, Chinbat allegedly caused an accident in the 9900 block of Gross Point Road.

When officers asked Chinbat how much he had to drink, he said, “Just one shot.” Officers asked him a second time and he said, “Okay, I had a lot,” the report said.

He was charged with four felony counts of aggravated DUI. His court date is Aug. 28.

Battery

Ramesha Jones, 23, of Skokie, was charged with battery on Aug. 8. According to the report, Jones allegedly attacked a woman in the 4800 block of Lee Street and caused injury to the woman’s head, arm and leg.

Robbery

Police responded to a robbery in the 8900 block of LaCrosse Avenue on Aug. 6. According to the report, a man was attacked from behind while gathering things from the trunk of his car. The alleged robber and victim would then exchange punches, and the victim reported hearing something drop on the ground. At first, he thought it was his cell phone, but police later uncovered a serrated knife that was not the victims, the report stated.

The alleged offender would then flee eastbound through an alley with a backpack containing the victim's wallet, clothes, boxing gloves and $40 in cash, according to the report.

No arrests were made.
