Wednesday Blotter: Stolen Lotto Tickets

Strong armed robbery

A teen was robbed of his Apple iPhone while walking home from Lee Wright Park on Jan. 16 around 8:30 p.m. According to the report, an unknown subject knocked the victim to the ground and took his phone. He then fled in an unknown direction.

The man was described as a black male, 5-foot-10, 18-years-old, wearing all black clothing, police said.

Battery

A 48-year-old man was transported to the hospital after police were dispatched to a gas station in the 8000 block of Skokie Boulevard regarding a battery complaint on Jan. 23. According to the report, the man had two serious cuts on his hand.

He told police that all he could remember was “his arm going through a window,” the report stated. No arrests were made.

Cash, silverware missing from burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 7800 block of Lowell Avenue on Jan. 21. According to the report, $2,000 in cash, silverware and two laptops were missing. The offender(s) gained forcible entry through a back door, police said.

Stolen appliances

A refrigerator, washer and dryer were reported stolen from a home in the 4300 block of  Cleveland Avenue on Jan. 25. The home was vacant during the time of burglary, police said.

Stolen Lotto tickets

A business in the 3400 block of Dempster Street was burglarized on Jan. 25. According to the report, the offender(s) used a brick to smash open the window and gain entry. Once inside, several wooden smoking pipes, cigarette cases and Lotto scratch-off tickets were stolen.

Stolen auto

A car parked in the 4900 block of Carol Avenue was reported burglarized on Jan. 25. The victim told police that he left the vehicle running and unattended, according to the report.

Nordstrom theft

A customer reported that her shopping bag was stolen while shopping at Nordstrom in Old Orchard Mall on Jan. 26.

Stolen goods

A woman reported that a box of "miscellaneous goods" were stolen from her apartment lobby in the 9200 block of Gross Point Road on Jan. 26.

Gas station grab-and-go

Police responded to a theft at a gas station in the 4800 block of Dempster Street on Jan. 28. According to the report, a man entered the store, grabbed about four or five prepaid cell phones, and fled. No arrests were made.

Deceptive practice

A woman reported that an unknown person used her credit card to order several bath robes without her knowledge on Jan. 23.

DUI

Mario Mora, of Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Jan. 26.

Noor Salam Isteevan, of Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions and driving off the roadway on Jan. 26.
