Baby stroller stolen

A baby stroller valued at $550 was stolen from an apartment complex storage area on July 1 around 7 p.m.

A 2006 sedan was vandalized while it was parked in Skokie on July 1. According to the report, it appeared as if “a large sledgehammer” was used to damage the car's hood. The exact location of the incident was not noted in the report.

A minivan parked in the 9400 block of Keeler Avenue had its window smashed on July 2. According to the report, no items were taken from inside the vehicle.

Theft from motor vehicle

A Blackberry cell phone and Apple iPod were stolen from a car parked in the 9500 block of Lawndale Avenue on July 2. According to the report, the owner left his vehicle unlocked.

Stolen bike

A bike valued at $1,000 was stolen after it was left unattended in the 4600 block of Davis Avenue on July 2.

Theft at Oakton Park

A man reported having his backpack stolen while he played volleyball at Oakton Park on July 2. According to the report, several credit cards, an iPhone and $50 were inside the bag.

A man came into the Skokie police station to report a theft on July 2. According to the report, the victim left his bag unattended at Oakton Communtiy Center's pool and lost $40 in cash, a credit card and a driver’s license.

Telltale sign of gas theft

A man visited the Skokie police station to report a theft on June 11. According to police, the man said his vehicle's gas cap had been stolen for the second time. Police told him that was usually an indication that gasoline might have been siphoned from his tank. The man also told police that other tenants in his building had a similar problem.
