Wednesday Blotter: Vulgar Vandalism

Garage burglary

Police responded to a burglary in the 8200 block of Knox Avenue on Sept. 17. According to the report, several tools and bolts were removed from the unit.

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint at the Oakton CTA Station on Sept. 19. According to the report, a garbage can was set on fire but later extinguished. No arrests were made.

DUI

Allin Khayou, 40, of Skokie, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Sept. 20. According to the report, Khayou was stopped near the 8200 block of Lockwood Avenue for a traffic violation. He allegedly had a blood alcohol content level of .121, the report said.

Vulgar vandalism

Police responded to a criminal damage complaint in the 8100 block of Kilpatrick Avenue on Sept. 18. According to the report, an unknown person(s) wrote vulgar words in the foyer area of a building. No arrests were made.

Retail theft

Le Roy Kaplan, 81, of Wilmette, was charged with retail theft on Sept. 20. Kaplan allegedly attempted to steal a pair of $189 jeans from Nordstrom in Old Orchard Mall. His court date is Oct. 26.
