Winnetka Native, 20, Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle

Wilson King, 20, passed away after being struck by a vehicle on the University of Denver campus recently. The Winnetka native was not in a crosswalk prior to being hit by a vehicle, police say.

Wilson King, a 20-year-old student from Winnetka was killed early this morning after being hit by a car on the western edge of the University of Denver campus, the Chicago Tribune is reporting

According to the Denver medical examiner's office, King was struck by a vehicle while walking, the Tribune article said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to a Facebook page that appears to belong to Wilson King, he graduated from New Trier High School in 2011.

Denver police said that King walked into traffic as he tried to cross the street, the Denver Post reported. He was not in a crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene.

It was not clear whether the driver would face charges in the incident, the article stated.
