Skokie celebrated its diverse heritage this weekend with its annual Festival of Cultures. The event is put on by the Village of Skokie, the Skokie Public Library, and the Skokie Park District along with the help of many community members and groups.

The two day festival celebrated over 30 cultures, each represented by community members hosting booths in a Cultural Pavilion. More than 50 performers took to two different stages to entertain guests with a variety of music and dance. Guests could also peruse the International Marketplace Pavilion and visit Schaefer's International Beer Tasting, which was new this year.

The Festival of Cultures started in 1991 and has been drawing huge crowds since. Nearly 400,000 guests have visited the event over the years, with over 30,000 new guests coming every year.
