Skokie Car-Free Day will celebrate the idea of a less car-dependent future on Friday, September 21, 2012. Skokie has invested in this type of future by opening the new Oakton-Skokie Station in Downtown Skokie and planning for and constructing new segments of the Skokie Valley Trail (www.skokie.org/CDBicyclePlan.cfm).
