Lipin to Step Down as Skokie Voice Chair

Founder and chair of Skokie Voice Lisa Lipin will be stepping down from her position come January. She is seeking a trustee role with the village this April.

Some minor and big changes will be happening at Skokie Voice in the coming weeks.

Recently, the group held its annual meeting.

"The annual meeting is a time to connect with membership," said Skokie Voice Chair Lisa Lipin. "It was a brief meeting."

Seymour Schwartz was elected to another term on the board of directors. Rebecca Rubin was elected for the first time as a board director.

Meanwhile, Brian Novak will be resigning from his position as board member on Dec. 31. Both him and Lipin are running as independents for trustee this April.

Lipin will also step down from her current position as chair come Jan. 1, she said. She will still serve as a board director, however.

"I'll still be on the board of directors," she said. "Skokie Voice started off with a dozen people and now we have a couple hundred members."
