New Frozen Yogurt Store to Open in Skokie with Village Grant

Skokie trustees approved a maximum grant of $50,000 to Cocomero, which is expected to open at 4849 Oakton Street in October.

A frozen yogurt chain is expected to open at 4849 Oakton Street in October with a maximum $50,000 grant from Skokie’s Downtown Interior Renovation Rehab Program, Skokie Review reported.

Cocomero, a chain that sells smoothies and frozen yogurts, started in Champaign and has seven stores in locations such as Downers Grove, Elmhurst; the Skokie location will be independently owned by Skokie resident Young Baik, the newspaper reported.

The new yogurt store joins a host of frozen treats stores to open in the area. In May, Chicago-based Forever Yogurt opened its 10th store in Village Crossing Shopping Center.
