Skokie Fire Department One of 8 in Illinois to get Prestigious Accreditation
Honor goes to 146 fire departments in the U.S.
The Skokie Fire Department has received Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Accreditation International.
That might not sound like a big deal, but in fire department circles, it is.
Skokie was one of 146 agencies in the United States and eight in Illinois to achieve that status. Others in Illinois include Countryside Fire Protection Disstrict, Lake Forest, Highland Park, Naperville, Riverwoods-Lincolnshire, Westmont, Wilmette, Geneva and Rockford.
