Snow Plowing Continues in Skokie

Plows will continue to clear roads, alleys and sidewalks until the entire community has been serviced at least twice.

Below is information from the Village of Skokie on its snow clearing efforts:

Public Works crews will continue to clear snow from streets throughout the community on Friday, January 3 and Saturday, January 4, when alternate-side parking remains in effect. Special attention will be given to clearing bridges and sidewalks along school routes anticipating that public schools re-open on Monday, January 6.

Crews are plowing alleys and sidewalks, and will continue to do so through Saturday or when the entire community has been serviced for at least a second time.

Residents are reminded that the Village of Skokie does not have jurisdiction over many major roads in Skokie, including Crawford Avenue, Old Orchard Road, Skokie Boulevard, Golf Road, Touhy Avenue, sections of Gross Point Road and others. All snow removal from these roads is the responsibility of either Cook County or the Illinois Department of Transportation.
