District 69 Board Votes Against Skate Park

The Skokie-Morton Grove school district voted 6-1 against having a skate park on the Lincoln School propery.

The Skokie-Morton Grove School District 69 Board of Education voted 6-1 not to allow a skate park to be built on Lincoln School property at its regular board meeting Nov. 16, where it also let stand the superintendent's decision to ban all Halloween celebrations.

The Skokie Park District had proposed the idea to build the skate park, and it had received support from the village of Skokie and Skokie Library leadership. Parents and community members spoke both in favor and against it at a public hearing earlier in the month.
