Niles North Community Mourns Dan Horyn
Mr. Horyn, 34, died Sunday. Students, alumni and members of the community took to social media to express their condolences.
Members of the Niles North community took to social media to express their sadness at the death of teacher and coach Dan Horyn on Sunday. Horyn, 34, died after battling cancer for many years.
A Tweet from Tyrone Phillips is typical of others mourning the popular English teacher and cross-country and track and field coach.
He wrote: "My heart hurts to learn about the passing of Mr. Dan Horyn. He was more than an English teacher, more than a coach, he was a great person who impacted the way I think everyday. Rest in peace Mr. Horyn. You will be missed."
