OrganicLife Makes Zagat's '30 Under 30'

Zagat named OrganicLife's CEO Jonas Falk in its "30 Under 30" series. Falk's company serves lunch to District 219 students - some of which would disagree with the publications rating.

In late January, students at Niles West High School ditched the school menu in favor of a brown paper bag. The problem?

There’s a Facebook page - it's titled "Lunch Strike" - and has more than 1,500 followers. There was also an online petition and the hashtag #LunchStrike2013 was buzzing on Twitter in late January.

Still, OrganicLife CEO Jonas Falk made the Zagat "30 under 30," which lists 30 culinary rising stars in the Chicagoland area that are under the age of 30. Falk is 28.

According to Zagat:

"OrganicLife brings healthy lunches to school cafeterias, not only by providing better-quality food but serving it in an environment that mimics a traditional restaurant. “Kids are tough critics,” Falk says, and adds that his aim is not to change the food that students want to eat but rather make it better - think a grass-fed beef burger on a whole wheat bun. OrganicLife currently serves elementary and high schools around Chicago but will soon expand to the entire Midwest and eventually to states across the country."
