Athlete of the Week -

, Glenbrook North's Jenny McTague was named Patch Athlete of the Week.

McTague pitched a gem in Glenbrook North’s 1-0 victory over Maine South. The junior hurler yielded only three hits and two walks in a complete-game victory. The Spartans improved to 3-1 on the young season.

Tom Meyer, senior, boys water polo, Glenbrook South

Meyer came in second place,

He also made 40 saves and only allowed 28 goals in five games during the Evanston Tournament. Glenbrook South won the tournament with a 4-0-1 record, defeating St. Viator, Bremen, Evanston and Glenbrook North while tying McHenry.

Tyler Glowacki, senior, baseball, Maine East – Glowacki helped lead an offensive barrage for the Blue Demons, going 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBIs in Maine East’s 20-5 win over Luther North to open their season. Glowacki also pitched three innings and Maine East won the second game of the double header,12-3.

Jess Weaver, junior, girls soccer, New Trier – Weaver had a goal in New Trier’s win over Stevenson and then added an assist in the Trevians’ 3-0 win against Niles West. New Trier moved to 2-0 on the season with the victory.

Xavier Levy, senior, boys track and field, Evanston - Levy won the CSL South conference championships in the 60-yard low hurdles, 60-yard high hurdles and 220-yard dash last week, helping Evanston to the overall team title. Levy ran the 220 in 23.4 seconds.
