The nominees for Patch Athlete of the Week, May 28 – June 3:
Katie Fitzgerald, senior, softball, Maine West - Fitzgerald's two-run double in the 10th inning gave Maine West a 4-2 lead over New Trier and helped lead the Warriors to the Class 4A Niles West Sectional championship. The senior was 2 for 4 in the game.

Anna Schueler, junior, girls lacrosse, Loyola Academy - Schueler had a team-high five goals in the Ramblers' 11-7 win over New Trier in the lacrosse state championship game. It was the fourth consecutive state championship for Loyola.
Max Mordini, senior, baseball, Highland Park - Mordini allowed only four hits in a complete-game effort to lead the Giants to a 5-1 win over Stevenson in the Class 4A Glenbrook South Sectional semifinal. Highland Park would win the sectional title with a win over Mundelein.

John Forsythe, senior, baseball, Maine South - Forsythe threw a six-inning no-hitter against Niles West in the sectional semifinals, helping the Hawks to a 10-0 win. He had seven strikeouts in the victory.
Kyle Bedford, senior, softball, Glenbrook North - Bedford dished out 27 assists in Glenbrook North's state semifinal victory over Minooka. The Spartans ultimately took second place after a loss to Wheaton-Warrenville South.
