Free Winter Youth Baseball and Softball Clinics

District 219 is holding several sports camps this winter to help young athletes learn new skills, stay fit, and be competitive. There are D219 youth sports camps for water polo, softball, baseball and football, open to students who attend elementary schools and junior highs in Niles Township, and held at Niles North High School, Niles West High School and the Skokie Park District’s Weber Center Gymnasium. The Free Winter Youth Baseball and Softball Clinics are open to Boys and Girls Grades K through 8. The basic skills of throwing, catching, running and batting will be emphasized. Boys and girls will participate at the same time but in separate groups. Session 1 will be held on Monday, January 16 at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler, Skokie. The K through 4th grade clinic is held 1 p.m. through 2:30 p.m. and the 5th grade through 8th grade clinic is held from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Session 2 will be held on Sunday, February 26 at Niles West High School, 5701 Oakton, Skokie. The K through 4th grade clinic is 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the 5th grade through 8th grade clinic is 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Players should arrive 15 minutes prior to the clinic start, wear gym shoes and comfortable clothing, bring a sports drink, and baseball or softball glove.
