SOFTBALL VIDEO: Vikings Bats Heat Up Despite Cold Temperatures
Keiko Sugihara and Kristin Reichert combine for four home runs in Niles North's 16-3 win over Deerfield
Despite more chilly temperatures and a little bit of rain, the Niles North softball team had no problem finding their swing in last week's 16-3 win over Deerfield.
"I was proud that we came out the way we did," Niles North Head Coach Karen Wick said. "It was chilly, but we were relaxed and we swung our bats well and we swung at good pitches. Our offense obviously set the tone."
Kristin Reichert led the way for the Vikings, going 4-4 at the plate with two home runs and six RBI's. Keiko Sugihara also had two homers and was 3-4 at the plate, while also pitching five innings and striking out three batters.
