Are You DJ Curious?

Let's face it, DJ's are the new rock stars. Kids used to ask for guitars at Christmas, now they ask for turntables. Many of the large music store chains now have DJ sections, where they sell audio equipment and lighting for DJ's. The big chains know and understand the changing marketplace and want to stay ahead of the curve. There are also many videos on You Tube claiming they can teach you how to be a DJ, that's great! There is only one problem with these videos, they cant focus on your strengths and weaknesses, tell you what you're doing wrong, or guide you in the right direction when you get off course. There are even courses you can send away for by mail order. It would be great if you could go to the hottest nightclub in town, tap the DJ on the shoulder and ask him to teach you, but chances are you wouldn't get far. If you wanted to be great at any hobby or profession, you would go to a teacher that was an expert in the field and get the best training possible, right? I submit that you consider doing the same thing if you are thinking about being a DJ. There is no substitute for hard work, but there is a big difference between working hard with limited results, and working smart. I bet you would rather work smart.
