Buncombe County, North Carolina –Is a school in North Carolina blaming a bullying victim for getting bullied?

A 9-year-old boy was banned from bringing a My Little Pony bag to class because the items might prove to tempting for bullies, Fox 10TV reported.

Grayson Bruce's mother, Noreen, told Fox that school officials asked that the bag be left at home because it's a trigger for bullying. “Saying a lunchbox is a trigger for bullying, is like saying a short skirt is a trigger for rape.  It’s flawed logic, it doesn’t make any sense,” she said.

A statement from Buncombe County Schools read that officials take "bullying very seriously" and "an initial step was taken to immediately address a situation", WRIC reported.

How do you think schools should address bullying?

JP ref/link: "Some Of The Lost History In The Civil Rights Movement" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> +++ much history is lost in the article ... eg,anyone who knows history knows the DEMs of the civil rights debates/votes morphed, by way of the state rights movement, into GOPs of today ... "President Johnson made a 360— turn in his civil rights position" ... he recognized his mistakes and in doing the right thing lost the southern DEMs (today's GOPs). >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> +++ purposely misinterpreting history aside for now, lets talk NOW now! 1. the GOP policies resulted in 1929 and 2008 disasters; 2) they suppress minority votes; 3) they cut food stamps and many/most safety net programs; 4) they oppose immigration reform; 5) they want to deny health insurance to 30M po folks; 6) they want pay women less than men; 7) they are against increasing minimum wage; 8) etcetc <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< +++ 'where have all the good GOPs gone, long time passing'...what are today's GOPs for ... all i find is block BO policies ... why, maybe they dont like a black man in their white house?

MORE lets talk NOW now! +++ Republicans put all of their eggs in the same basket and thought that repealing ObamaCARES would be a way to win elections in 2014. But Americans had another idea. Americans are now learning that all of those doom and gloom stories that they heard from Republicans were just doom and gloom stories that were never true. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/08/health-insurance-obamacare_n_5112836.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Chtmlws-main-bb%7Cdl2%7Csec1_lnk2%26pLid%3D46251
