Spend a day volunteering at the Niles Township Food Pantry and you will walk away a more humble, grateful person. The pantry is always looking for donations and volunteers. Some of the services you could provide for the holidays include wrapping donated bread, assembling food bags, sort through donations, restock food supply and cleaning the facility.  

The food pantry feeds some 3,000 people and distributes 85,000 lbs. of food each month to citizens in the Niles Township community.

Visit the Skokie Hospital Kitchen and assist in the daily coordination of the Skokie Home Delivered Meals Program. Duties include sorting through prepared meals by pre-arranged route, packing meals in route order, provide last minute instructions to drivers and assure accuracy in program.

Volunteers can expect to work from Mon. - Fri., 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Dedicated to preserving the legacy of the Holocaust by honoring the memories of those who were lost, the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center teaches universal lessons to combat hatred, prejudice and indifference. Volunteers are needed to staff the Brill Family Resource Center. No previous library experience is necessary. On site training will be provided.

The mission of Skokie Hospital is to preserve and improve human life. Volunteers are needed to provide high quality, non-clinical support by assisting patients and family members during meal times, by providing transportation / messenger services, or by visiting patients in need of company.

There is a ton you probably don't know about Skokie, and spending a day at the Skokie Heritage Museum is sure to get you up to speed about the village's history. From Skokie's founding families to an archive of pictures, artifacts and keepsakes. Volunteer opportunities include assisting with the archival and preservation process, including data entry; greeting visitors and assisting as needed during special events; and aiding in raising awareness of the museum and its programs through multimedia resources.
