If You Take Down Holiday Lights, Here's How To Recycle Them

  • If you're taking down your holiday decorations this weekend, you may find some burned-out bulbs, frayed cords or other indications it's time to retire a strand of lights. There's a holiday light recycling program through the village of Skokie and Solid Waste Agency of Cook County; drop the lights off at village hall; here's more info.
  • Seeing how a tap-dancing superhero saves the world--what could be a better way to end the holiday season? It's a dance extravaganza in "Tapman 2" at Gorilla Tango Theatre in Skokie. Saturday at 7 p.m.
