Meet Zombies For A Good Cause This Weekend Near Skokie
Or, go to an event all about romance, or watch a handler show you live wolves and coyotes, or laugh at 'Funny Old Broads.' That's a show--we don't mean you should go around laughing at older women.
- Get scared to help needy families! This weekend only, (Oct. 11-13), get $5 off your Fear City ticket price, plus, $4 will be donated to the District 219 Educational Foundation to help students who can't afford meals and books. Find out how to get the deal.
- 'Funny Old Broads,' who still have their good looks despite the name, perform the last three shows of their run this weekend at Skokie's Gorilla Tango Theater. And we've heard it is indeed very funny.
- Romantics, rejoice! The Jane Austen Festival--two months long--begins Saturday at Morton Grove Library. Make a shawl like Jane would have worn, plus two movies based on Austen heroines.
- Want to see a live wolf, coyote, skunk, porcupine and more? Big Run Wolf Ranch, which is all about education and conservation, brings these animals to Emily Oaks Nature Center Saturday at 10 a.m.
- On Sunday Oct. 13, there's a Home and Safety Fair at Oakton Community College's Skokie Campus. Learn to protect your family against ID theft, crime, fires and more; and protect your kids against cyberbullying.
- On Monday, Oct. 14 (It's a holiday, Columbus Day), let your kids discover some nature during a program at Emily Oaks Nature Center, starting at 9 a.m.
