New Synagogue Opens Sunday In Skokie


Find something fun to do in Skokie this weekend. 

  • See "An Adult Evening with Shel Silverstein" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Gorilla Tango Theater on Lincoln Avenue. 
  • A new synagogue opens Sunday with festivities, refreshments and crafts for children. Kehilat Chovevei Tzion, on Crawford Street, is described as a modern Orthodox Jewish synagogue, which will have separate areas for worship in the Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions. 9:30 a.m.
