Writers of NBC's 'Friends' Offer New Take On 'Rapunzel'

Find fun things to do this weekend, from a punk/Eastern European concert to an artisan faire, Trashy Fashion Show, jazz concert and more.

  • We're hoping Rapunzel still has her long hair in this version, but who knows what liberties the writer of NBC's "Friends" television series, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, have taken with "Rapunzel." See it at Gorilla Tango theater on Lincoln in downtown Skokie. Friday at 6:30, Saturday at 2 and 6:30 and Sunday at 2.
  • The Trashy Fashion Show, in which creative designers make pretty awesome apparel from recycled materials, is put on by SWANCC, the Solid Waste Agency of Cook County, Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 at the Chicago Marriott Northwest in Hoffman Estates. The show was held in Skokie in previous years.
  • Niles North High School holds its Fall Jazz Concert from 7:30 to 9:30 Friday at the high school.
  • The Artisan Faire at Sisterhood Temple Beth Israel in Skokie will take place Sunday, Nov. 17 and will feature jewelry, cards, candles, handicrafts, Judaica and more. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • This weekend is a good time to get stuff done around the house, because next weekend is The Weekend Before Thanksgiving, which plunges us into the holiday season.
