It's supposed to be a surprise, not an announcement. This just allows the drunks to drive furtherRead More to bypass the check points.

Thank you for the comments. The department gives me this information and encourages Patch to publishRead More it. The reason being is when they do stop a drunk driver, they can say that a press release was published as to where the checkpoints were. According to the department, police have to make some sort of announcement when setting up these checkpoints. Also, sometimes DUIs get thrown out because judges feel officers set up or trapped motorists with these type of checkpoints. By having the information in the media, the police can say they made an effort to inform the community, resulting in less of a chance of the DUI getting thrown out. Skokie Patch is currently working on an investigative story on this very topic, so stay tuned. =)

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that weRead More got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://BuzzSave.com
