It may not look like much from the outside, but that's only because Frank H. Stowell & Sons, Inc., is busy…More displaying its architectural prowess elsewhere. With a client list filled with hospitals, public buildings and high-end residential projects, the company brings its sense of modern design to bear on a number of works in Chicago and beyond.
With three generations of family ownership, this architectural firm has been changing the face of Chicago for nearly 100 years. It was founded in 1912, and the principles that successfully launched the firm still guide it today: a unique, fresh approach to every project, and a special relationship with the client each and every time.
Les Turner was a Chicago area businessman who was diagnosed with ALS in 1976. Frustrated by the lack of information…More and research on ALS at the time, he didn't want anyone else to have to suffer without knowledge as he did. His family and friends started the Foundation that bears his name in 1977.
Les Turner passed away in 1977 at the age of 38. Thirty years later, the Les Turner ALS Foundation is recognized as a local and national leader in research, patient care and education about ALS.
