Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago will be selling their delicious cookies this Saturday, Jan. 5. The newly minted boxes remind customers that buying Girl Scout cookies is more than just an exchange of money for product. The young Girl Scout entrepreneurs learn key business skills that carry them into adulthood. Skokie resident and troop leader Amanda Lorenz said training her scouts to sell the cookies is part of the fun. “We practice how they are going to talk to people, help them set a goal for themselves and figure out together how to count up the money and what to do with it,” Lorenz said. “Part of Girl Scout law is being courteous to other people and be responsible to what you say.” Lorenz’s group consists of 11 girls, one of which is …
