Serial Hair Salon Robber Indicted in Skokie

Jason Logsdon, 41, told police that he robbed more than a dozen hair salons to feed his crack habit.

Jason Logsdon was indicted this week at the Skokie Courthouse, the Sun-Times reports. He was charged with five counts of armed robbery. Logsdon, 41, of the 900 block of Evanston, robbed  15 hair salons in eight different municipalities, spanning two counties. Two of his robberies occurred in Skokie. There was also one in Niles and Morton Grove, police said. According to the Sun-Times, Logsdon used a BB gun to rob the salons, adding that he would typically make off with anywhere from $100 to $800. He also told authorities that he committed the robberies to feed his crack habit. Logsdon is scheduled to appear in court on March 8. Read our previous coverage -- Patch on Facebook

Busted: Hair Salon Bandit Charged with 11 Counts of Robbery

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office Charged an Evanston man with 11 counts of armed robbery today. The announcement was made at the Skokie police station.

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved 11 counts of armed robbery against an Evanston man today. The announcement was made at the Skokie Police Department at 10:30 a.m. Jason Logsdon, 41, of the 900 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was charged with 11 counts of armed robbery, all Class X felonies. Police believe Logsdon is responsible for a total of 15 robberies, but the remaining four occurred in DuPage County. That county is still continuing its investigation, police said. WGN is reporting that Logsdon executed the robberies to support his cocaine and crack habit. The news outlet attributed the information to an unknown source. Logsdon appeared in court earlier today but was taken away by an ambulance to a nearby hospital…

Suspected Serial Hair Salon Bandit Nabbed: Skokie PD to Hold Press Conference

The Skokie Police Department will hold a press conference today, Wednesday, Feb. 6, regarding the arrest of a man that it says is responsible for a recent string of hair salon robberies in the Chicagoland area.

The reason: The department believes it's nabbed a serial hair salon bandit, who it says is responsible for 15 armed robberies that occurred in eight different municipalities, spanning two counties. Cops Believe They’ve Nabbed 'Hair Salon Bandit'

A man that is believed to be involved in a string of hair salon robberies was taken into custody by the Skokie Police Department on Monday around 9 p.m.

Skokie police issued a press release stating that they believe they have the “hair salon bandit” in custody on Monday around 9:46 p.m. Skokie, working in cooperation with other police departments, arrested a suspect they believe is responsible for a recent string of hair salon robberies. The offender is currently being questioned by Skokie police detectives. It is still in the early stages of the investigation and several detectives from many jurisdictions are following up on numerous investigative leads, police said. Another Great Clips Robbed in Chicago

Chicago police responded to a robbery at a Great Clips in Wicker Park on Monday, Feb. 4. The robbery is similar to those that occurred in Skokie and Niles.

Chicago police responded to an armed robbery at Great Clips, 1238 N. Ashland Ave., on Monday.  According to Chicago Police Affairs (CPA), the offender entered the store around 10:45 a.m. and displayed a handgun before demanding money. He would then flee the scene with an unknown amount of cash in a dark grey vehicle. According to CPA, the man’s description is similar to other robberies that have occurred in the Chicago area in recent weeks. Similar robberies have also occurred in Skokie, Niles, Morton Grove, Bensenville, Lombard, and Glen Ellyn. -- Patch on Facebook.

Chicago Great Clips Robbed Tuesday

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at a Lincoln Park Great Clips. The incident is the second of its kind in an eight-day time span in the Chicagoland area. Skokie and Niles have seen similar robberies, too.

Chicago police were investigating a second hair salon robbery in an eight-day time frame Tuesday afternoon that occurred that morning in Lincoln Park. The incident, which took place around 9:50 a.m. at Great Clips, 1005 W. Webster Ave., Chicago, involved a 200-plus pound Hispanic suspect clad in a red jacket and grey scarf who police estimate stands between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches tall. Brandishing a handgun, he walked into the salon and demanded money, according to Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. "He then fled on foot," Zala said, adding that no injuries were reported in connection with the crime.  The offender got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Broadview Hair Cuttery Robbed at Gunpoint

Another hair salon was robbed yesterday, but this time in Broadview. The Hair Cuttery robbery is the latest hair salon in the Chicago area to be robbed.

A Hair Cuttery in Broadview was robbed on Wednesday morning, according to a stylist at the salon. The man entered the salon at 118 Broadview Square and displayed a black handgun before demanding cash from the register. The man then put the cash in a black backpack and fled the scene, the employee said. "It was the same guy I saw in the news," said stylist Lisa Burke regarding the robber. "It was definitely him." A call to the Broadview Police Department was not returned prior to publication, but Patch will update this story as more information is available. UPDATE: Great Clips in Chicago Robbed at Gunpoint

A Great Clips in Chicago was robbed Monday around 10:10 a.m. This comes after several hair salons in Skokie and Niles were robbed.

Updated 11:43 p.m. - A Great Clips in Chicago was robbed at gunpoint on Monday, police said. The robber entered the salon at 1235 N. Clybourn at 10:10 a.m., pointed a black handgun at the stylists and demanded she put money in his backpack. The offender then fled the scene westbound, an officer at Chicago News Affairs said. The man was wearing a red puffy coat, red jacket and a skullcap, police said. Police believe this individual is the same person that robbed two hair salons in Lincoln Park in December. The Great Clips robbery is also similar to those of recent weeks in surrounding suburbs such as Skokie and Niles. It is unclear if the Jan. 21st robber is the same individual responsible for those that occurred in the suburban area, …

Stylists 'Terrified' of Hair Salon Bandit

Two hair stylists in Skokie talk about security precautions - such as keeping their doors locked at all times - after the hair salon bandit robbed three area salons in a two-week span.

Despite the store being open, walk up to Hair Cuttery in Village Crossing and expect the doors to be locked. It's a security precaution the employees have taken since the hair salon bandit has robbed three area salons - two in Skokie, one in Niles - in two weeks. "We started locking our doors on Monday," said Hair Cuttery stylist Dyana Kheyo, 22. "We're terrified. Our customers are terrified. They know what's been going on. It's been all over the news."
