Meet the Man Behind the Purple Hotel

In part two of this series, Purple Hotel developer Jake Weiss talks about his upbringing, motel's sordid history and his faith.

Jake Weiss was reared in real estate world and literally got his hands dirty working for his father Joe, who had buildings in Uptown, Edgewater and Rogers Park. “I grew up in the boiler room,” Jake remembered. “I emptied the garbage bins every day and when there was a broken pipe, I fixed it. My father taught me how to do everything myself. What's In Store For the Purple Hotel?

Jake Weiss purchased the Purple Hotel in May with the intent of bringing it back to its former glory. In this two part series, Weiss talks about what's in store for the hotel and the Village of Lincolnwood.
