Skokie Hospital Earns 'A' Safety Rating

All four NorthShore University HealthSystem hospitals earned ‘A’ grades in The Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Scores.

  Skokie Hospital, along with three other NorthShore University HealthSystem hospitals –Evanston, Glenbrook and Highland Park, have all earned ‘A’ grades in The Leapfrog Group’s semi-annual Hospital Safety Scores, Skokie Review reported. The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit, uses 26 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to produce a single grade representing a hospital’s overall success in keeping patients safe from infections, injuries, and medical and medication errors, according to the organization’s website. All Four NorthShore University HealthSystem Hospitals Earn Top Marks For Safety

The Leapfrog Group gave the Glenbrook, Evanston, Skokie and Highland Park hospitals straight A's, the highest possible scores, in a new rating system.

NorthShore University HealthSystem hospitals in Evanston, Glenview, Highland Park and Skokie earned A grades in The Leapfrog Group’s semi-annual hospital safety reviews for the second time since last spring, according to a press release from the hospitals.  “These grades reflect the incredible work of our physicians and staff to make high-quality care and patient safety a priority at all four of our hospitals,” Ken Anderson, chief medical quality officer at NorthShore said in the release. “It’s what NorthShore University HealthSystem strives for each day, and we’re proud that all of our hospitals were able to maintain the ‘A’ grade.” According ot the release, only 30 percent of studied hospitalsreceived A grades during the fall period.  …

NorthShore HealthSystem Twice Praised

Magazine comes back to give hospital chain high marks in 10 specialties.

Ten specialty medical fields at NorthShore University HealthSystem earned high-performing marks in a U.S. News & World Report survey released Tuesday. U.S. News' annual survey of the best hospitals across the nation examined 5,000 facilities based on 16 specialties, according to a statement released by NorthShore. NorhShore, which has hospitals in Glenview, Skokie, Evanston and Highland Park, was honored as one of the best health facilities in the Chicago area by the magazine in April. North Shore United Way (NSUW)--a local, independent United Way chapter and a member of the larger United Way of Metropolitan Chicago-- honored the organization's biggest supporters while taking a look into the future at its 2011 Annual Celebration Luncheon June 15 at Wildfire in Glenview.
