Congratulations to Skokie resident Kathy Carey who took this stunning Fall photo to win the Skokie Park District's Flickr contest recently. Carey moved from downtown Chicago to Skokie about a year ago. She said she's had to adjust her photo subjects from city scenes to "more nature-centric ones." "I've found two places that have quickly become favorites to photograph - the Emily Oaks Nature Center and the Botanic Gardens," Carey said. The little girl running in the picture is Carey's granddaughter, which she named the photo after - "Nellie." Like Skokie Patch on Facebook and see Carey's photo as our featured banner.
