Student attacked by peers A female student at Niles North High School was attacked in a hallway as she walked toward class on May 16. The teen was punched and kicked by several other female students, police said. All offenders were apprehended by school security. No further details were provided. Woman Finds Burglar In Her House A homeowner in the 4400 block of Harvard Terrace walked upstairs from her basement May 3 about 9 p.m. when she noticed a man in her bedroom. The man was wearing a hoodie which was drawn tightly around his face. The offender pushed the door shut against the homeowner. The homeowner ran outside and called 911 from a neighbor's house. The offender was about 5'8" and weighed about 185 pounds. Stolen from the home were various rings, a Panasonic camera and $3,000.
