An argument ensued, and one person pushed the other. No charges were filed. Vehicle vandalism The front and rear windows of a car parked in the 10000 block of Frontage Road were smashed open on May 11. No items were reported missing. Youth set fire A group of juveniles set fire to an unlocked storage shed at NorthShore Community Bank, 5049 Oakton St., on May 11 around 11. Retail Theft Kenneth Alvardo, 32, of Skokie, was charged with retail theft after attempting to take a large deep-dish pizza from Jet’s Pizza, 41112 Dempster Street, without paying for it at 11 p.m. on May 2, police stated. Possession of Cannabis Benjamin Rozier, 24, of Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis after police conducted a traffic stop on the 4900 block of Hull Street at 12:50 a.m. on May 2, police stated. Woman Finds Burglar In Her House A homeowner in the 4400 block of Harvard Terrace walked upstairs from her basement May 3 about 9 p.m. when she noticed a man in her bedroom. The man was wearing a hoodie which was drawn tightly around his face. The offender pushed the door shut against the homeowner. The homeowner ran outside and called 911 from a neighbor's house. The offender was about 5'8" and weighed about 185 pounds. Stolen from the home were various rings, a Panasonic camera and $3,000. Aggravated assault Police responded to an aggravated assault complaint after a parent said their son was going to cut them "to pieces" with a kitchen knife in the 7800 block of Niles Center Road on April 27. When the parent told the offender that he or she was going to call police, the suspect fled the area. No charges were filed. Teen charged with battery A female teen stole several pieces of merchandise from Marshall's, 9445 Skokie Blvd., on April 23. According to police, a loss prevention worker tried to stop the teen from leaving the premise, but was slapped in the back of the head by a male juvenile outside the store, allowing the first offender to escape. When officers arrived on scene they located the attacking male and charged him with battery, police said. Only one arrest was made. Car stolen, found and burglarized A car was reported stolen on April 24. However, the owner would later find her vehicle at the corner of Grove and Knox later that day, police said.
