Teen charged with battery A female teen stole several pieces of merchandise from Marshall's, 9445 Skokie Blvd., on April 23. According to police, a loss prevention worker tried to stop the teen from leaving the premise, but was slapped in the back of the head by a male juvenile outside the store, allowing the first offender to escape. When officers arrived on scene they located the attacking male and charged him with battery, police said. Only one arrest was made. Car stolen, found and burglarized A car was reported stolen on April 24. However, the owner would later find her vehicle at the corner of Grove and Knox later that day, police said. Theft thwarted Loss prevention at Marshall's, 9445 Skokie Blvd., told police they thwarted a theft after confronting two possible shoplifters. According to police, two customers entered the store and began dumping merchandise into an empty bag. When confronted, the duo dropped the clothing on the floor and fled the store. According to police, an unknown offender approached an elderly victim's home and told them that he was doing flood control work next door and he needed to show them something in the yard.
