Chicago Weather: Expect Wind Chills 20 Below
The National Weather Forecast Service stated the combination of cold temperatures and wind will produce a below zero forecast on Tuesday, Jan. 22. There is some good news, however.
It’s bitter outside, and the cold snap is expected to continue throughout the week. Wind chill values are forecasted to be negative 17-degrees on Tuesday morning, Jan. 22. Winds are expected to be blowing west at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph, according to the National Weather Forecast (NWS). There is some good news, however, it is expected to be sunny. Tuesday night should warm up with mostly cloudy weather and wind chill values as low as negative 7-degrees. The NWS announced a hazardous weather outlook and wind chill advisory for Cook and Lake counties, and other areas in North Central and Northwest Illinois and Northwest Indiana on Monday.
