Early Voting Starts Monday

Here's where you can cast your ballot early, to avoid the rush on Election Day. You don't need an excuse--anyone can do it.

  If you don't want to wait until Election Day, Nov. 6, to cast your ballot in the presidential election, you don't have to. In Cook County, Early Voting starts Monday, Oct. 22 and continues through Nov. 3.  Anyone can vote early, and you don't need to give a reason. So if you have to work on Election Day, or just want to get it out of the way, you can head to the polls now. You need to bring a photo ID, such as a driver's license, state-issued ID card or university ID card with you in order to vote. You can vote at any Early Voting location in the county. i have been an early voting judge for the past several years and i must comment on the fact that while the voter has become much more sophisticated in using the touch screen machines over the years...the wear and tear of these machines has become a more evident problem which slows considerably the flow of an uninterrupted voting process.   more ›
